This summer Willmar Lakes Area Vision 2040 will host an Idea Works Event. This event will bring together community members who can share their ideas to make our communities better and collaborate on how to implement these ideas through resources, tools and funds. This event will be fun, creative and welcoming to all across Willmar and Kandiyohi County
During and after the event, participants will have an opportunity to prepare their idea and present it to Vision 2040 to potentially be selected to receive funding. Detailed instructions for idea submission, selection and funding process will be shared at the Idea Works Event.
Some idea examples may include:
- Outdoor co-working space with Wi-Fi and Charging stations
- A system for connecting people to opportunities so they can share their gifts
- Youth opportunities and engagement
- Downtown community events
- Cultural cuisine
- Newcomer connections
The ideas are endless!
The Idea Works Event will take place Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Willmar Public Library Meeting Room. This event is free and open to all. We do ask that you register so we can plan accordingly. The event will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.

Please note that participants in the Idea Works Event are not required to submit an idea to Vision 2040 to be eligible for funding or endorsement. However, we encourage you to attend to learn more about the submission process and identify additional resources, tools and partners for your idea.
