Thank You for Your Generosity
Thanks to the generosity of the above-mentioned stakeholders, Vision 2040 has evolved to an effort driven and backed by volunteers and citizens of the Willmar Lakes Area. The goal is to create long-range plans for building communities where people can meet their needs (economics, spiritual, recreational, etc…) and contribute to creating the kind of community where people want to live, work, educate, play, and raise families. We are able to accomplish this through collaboration, partnerships and community-led efforts.
Together, we have already added much value to our communities. Our work originated in the early 2000s when leaders in Kandiyohi County developed Vision 2020, a map of where they wanted to be in twenty years. Vision 2020 spurred the development of the YMCA, the community pool, the combined law enforcement center, the community’s effort to develop Latino entrepreneurs and many other important regional initiatives.
Since then, we’ve wondered what our Willmar Lakes Area could be… in 2040. What’s possible? What could we become? It is with those questions in mind that a group of community leaders partnered with Next Generation Consulting to help lead the Vision 2040 process. The Willmar Lakes Area Vision 2040 group has been intentional every step of the way to ensure that this is an action plan for the community, by the community.
Are you or your organization looking to help build the community and contribute to these efforts? If so, might you consider becoming a stakeholder.
Becoming a Stakeholder
The Vision 2040 Steering Committee members are willing to attend one of your meetings upon your request to answer questions regarding this request and to provide an update on Vision 2040. If you are interested in having someone come and speak at your meeting, please let me know. We encourage your involvement in Vision 2040 as our communities working together are the keys to making this successful.
Again, we thank you for your time and financial commitment to Vision 2040. We see the impact on people’s impressions of the community, but more work needs to be done. We are confident that our efforts will produce results for our community by enhancing our image, improving the quality of life and allowing others to see us as a favorable community in which to live, work, play and do business.
If you are looking to contribute to Vision 2040 and to aid the community in these efforts, please consider becoming a stakeholder.
