The Spotlight Theatre Workshop strives to create theatre experiences for all ages and abilities allowing for community engagement and connections. Engagement is at the foundation of Vision 2040’s action plan to improve the Willmar Lakes Area. The grants provided were utilized as part of a July 2020 performance of The Little Mermaid with local youth at The Barn Theatre. This was an affordable and fun way for our community’s youth to get involved in arts with over 30 to 75 participants.
What does a Spotlight Theatre Workshop Class Look like?
Spotlight Theatre Workshops are one week long camp style classes that meet everyday for a week and conclude with a performance of lessons learned. Each workshop is 4 hours and 35 minutes long with an additional one to two hours of practice time outside of the class. Throughout the workshop, students learn Broadway and Disney songs, choreographed dances and scenes.
Skills Learned from Workshops
