Why did you join the Vision 2040 Steering Committee?
I was very involved in Vision 2040 when it first launched, so I was thrilled to sit on the steering committee as a Willmar city council liaison.
What Vision 2040 project or initiative are you most passionate about and why?
When it first launched I was very involved with "Attracting and Retaining" with an emphasis on housing. We have seen so many apartment buildings built in the last 10 years, I often wonder where all these people were living back in 2013 when this was launched. I was
also fortunate to be a part of the 2015 inaugural L.E.A.D. (Vision 20/40 Leadership) class.
Today, I am passionate about bringing the community together. I still have a passion for housing but now it is revitalizing our current housing stock making it safer and healthier. Also important is expanding new single family homes allowing more people to realize the American Dream of homeownership! I also love to see and empower others to rise to their best self and take on leadership roles in our community achieving their own goals and dreams.
What's their favorite place in Kandiyohi County and why?
I love Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center. It is so easy to be at peace amongst the prairie, nature, and landscape.
